One Simple Rule For Life

There is a powerful principle you can use to guide you to an extremely grand life.

Do that which is emotionally difficult.

To create the good life, you have to engage in emotional labour, there is no way around it.

When given the choice, choose the path that is difficult versus choosing the quick and easy one. As the counter-intuitive saying goes, taking the easy road leads to a difficult life and taking the difficult road leads to an easy life.

Follow this one principle in as many areas as possible and it will pay dividends for the rest of your life.

Contemplate why this is true. Look for evidence where you have experienced this before. This one principle can transform your entire life should you choose to develop it.

Don’t underestimate its simplicity.

Quote of the week

“I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by conscious endeavour” — Henry David Thoreau

Book of the month

One of the powerful ideas in The Way of the Superior Man is that a man finds strength and freedom when he commits fully to his deepest purpose instead of drifting through comfort and approval. It teaches that masculine energy thrives on direction, mission, and edge, and that without a clear aim, a man becomes reactive, distracted, and emotionally unstable. The book also speaks to showing up in relationships with grounded presence, emotional openness, and leadership rather than neediness or control. At its core, it is about living aligned with truth, embracing challenge as a path to growth, and choosing depth over mediocrity so that your work, love life, and inner world all reflect a man who is consciously committed to his highest path.

Challenge of the month

Every day spend 30 minutes contemplating a powerful question.
